Apparel Size & Fit Guide

Find your fit before you order

A little measuring can make choosing apparel easier. Use this guide as a starting point, then check the sizing information for the exact item you want to purchase.

Size labels are not universal. A medium in one garment may fit differently from a medium in another. Do not assume that the same size will fit the same way across different styles or suppliers.

Start with the product listing

Look for the item's size chart, fit description, fabric information, and measuring instructions. Check whether measurements are given in inches or centimeters and whether they describe your body or the finished garment. These are different measurements and should not be compared directly.

If a listing does not include the information you need, please contact B Farm Creations before ordering. Include the product name or link and the size you are considering.

How to take body measurements

Use these steps only when the product chart calls for body measurements. Use a flexible measuring tape, stand naturally, and keep the tape comfortably snug without pulling it tight. Follow any different instructions supplied with the item.

  • Chest or bust: Measure around the fullest part, keeping the tape level across your back.
  • Waist: Measure around your natural waist, unless the product chart specifies another position.
  • Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips.

Compare your measurements with the chart for that specific product. Use the chart's own instructions for any additional measurements.

Compare a garment you already like

If the chart lists finished-garment measurements, a similar item you already own can be a useful reference. Choose a garment with a fit you enjoy, lay it flat without stretching it, and measure it using the same method shown in the product chart.

  • Width: Measure across the garment at the location specified by the chart, often from underarm to underarm for a top.
  • Length: Measure from the starting point shown in the chart to the bottom hem.
  • Sleeves or inseam: Follow the chart's indicated starting and ending points.

A flat width is not the same as the distance all the way around a garment. Match the measurement method, not just the number.

Between sizes?

Consider how you like your clothing to feel, the garment's cut, and any stretch described in the listing. Compare both sizes with your measurements or a similar garment. There is no single rule to always size up or down, so ask us if the product information leaves you unsure.

Apparel accessories

For hats and other wearable accessories, check the specific dimensions, adjustable features, and measuring instructions in the listing. Do not assume that every accessory is adjustable or that one size will suit everyone.
